Macau Holiday : Guincho a Galera

Still continue my story at Macau, last time I wrote about my journey to Macau Holiday: Ruins of St. Paul's and be ready to have a special dinner in the Hotel Lisboa Area and finally we arrived at the glamorous Portugal Restaurant called Guincho a Galera.

As soon as we arrived, we welcomed by Wine rack which very tempting to drink and when we went to inside I really amazed with the inside of the interior of this restaurant. It's very vintage and feel "Portugal" in every corner of this place.

So, let's start to pick the menu! We ordered Spring Vegetables Salad with Lemon Basil Dressing / Salada de legumes com molho de limao e manjericao, Balcahau & Snail Coquette with Mixed Garden Salad / Pasteis de bacalhau com caracois e salada do jardim, Roasted Suckling Pig with Mashed Potatoes & Vegetables / Leitao assado com pure de batata e legumes, Royal Duck Rice / Arroz de Pato de Lisboa.

Banana bread, sausage bread, beer bread. As for starters, they served us 3 kinds of breads. All the breads were fantastic but my favorite was Banana bread. The Banana bread was the best banana bread I've ever had, it was soft and the banana taste was really melted into my mouth. I was very into this bread until I feel my stomach just so full even it just was a starter.

Spring Vegetables Salad with Lemon Basil Dressing / Salada de legumes com molho de limao e manjericao. As I ever told you before I'm never into vegetables, things, but when I tasted this food, I forgot about my the tastes of the vegetables and I just keep eating that. The texture of the crackers-made plate was blend perfectly with the texture of the spring vegetables and the fresh of the fruits.
Price: MOP125

Balcahau & Snail Coquette with Mixed Garden Salad / Pasteis de bacalhau com caracois e salada do jardim. That was nice and great. I love how they mixed with the taste of the ingredients and how they perfectly blend.
Price: MOP160

Royal Duck Rice / Arroz de Pato de Lisboa was incredible as well. The duck meat was perfect and tender. And the rice was the taste I never felt before, but I enjoy the texture. But this was great great great and another five stars.
Price: MOP260

Roasted Suckling Pig with Mashed Potatoes & Vegetables / Leitao assado com pure de batata e legumes. One sentence I can describe about this food: the one of the best foods I've ever had in my life. First, I want to give standing applause for the Mashed Potatoes! It was the most perfect Mashed Potato I've ever eaten. And then there is the Pig! It was INCREDIBLE, the skin texture was very crunchy, complete with soft and magnificent pig meat. Definitely worth trying and repeat!
Price: MOP280

It was the one of great dinner I ever had! With the interior and nuisance they created I feel like in "Portugal" situation.

Macau Holiday : Ruins of St. Paul's

Still continue the story of my Macau Holiday. After seen the glamorous of Macau at the Venetian Macao, this time I will tell about the old, but the feel of history site of the Macau Area, the infamous The Ruins of St. Paul's, Senado Square, and Freguesia de São Lázaro area.

The beautiful São Lázaro Area was mesmerized me, it was very traditional and vintage area at Macau. Freguesia de São Lázaro (English:St. Lazarus Parish) is the smallest parish in Macau, located in the central-east region of the Macau Peninsula. It is surrounded by Freguesia de Nossa Senhora de Fátima, Freguesia de Santo António, and Freguesia da Sé.

What I sense when I went there was a packed with their own history kind of place. The oldest building still standing well there. The church and every part of this area just like "history" telling. I feel like peace and harmony when I take a walk in this area. It's like you discover the real Portugal in Macau.

Not only the vintage building and church, yet as well the stores around there. The vintage clothes store, vintage posters, telephone, posters, tv until badminton racket was taken me to go another era of this world. I was so excited and busy to take pictures so it won't go away from my memory.

Freguesia de São Lázaro.

After that, done with the quiet and peace São Lázaro, we walk to the Ruins of St. Paul's. Because that time was holiday season, a lot people came here since Ruins of St. Paul's is one of the popular holiday destinations in Macau.

On my way to Ruins of St. Paul's, you can find a lot of souvenir and gift store, so if you want to buy some gifts for family or friends this place is the right place to buy that.

And finally I arrived at the infamous Ruins of St. Paul's! But... people were like thousands there and to take a picture was like difficult. Anyway, Ruins of St. Paul's is very beautiful place, it was a historical and classical landmark.

The Ruins of St. Paul's (Chinese: 大三巴牌坊; Cantonese Yale: daaih sāam bā pàaihfōng) are the ruins of a 17th-century complex in Santo António, Macau, China. It includes what was originally St. Paul's College and the Church of St. Paul is also known as "Mater Dei", a 17th-century Portuguese church dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle. Today, the ruins are one of Macau's best known landmarks. They are often, but incorrectly, mentioned as a former cathedral (see the Macau Cathedral), a status they never had. In 2005, they were officially listed as part of the Historic Centre of Macau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Ruins of St. Paul's
Open hour: Monday, Wednesday-Sunday 09.00AM to 6PM. Tuesday 09.00AM to 2PM.

After taking a lot pictures, the sun starts to set and we have planned to take special glamorous dinner at Hotel Lisboa area. To go there we need to pass the another famous area in Macau called Senado Square.

Senado Square is the outdoor shopping center and park in Macau. Usually people come here for shopping and spend time with close friends or family.

The Senado Square, or Senate Square (Portuguese: Largo do Senado; Chinese: 議事亭前地, Cantonese Yale: Yíh Sih Tìhng Chìhn Deih), is a paved town square in Sé, Macau, China and part of the UNESCO Historic Centre of Macau World Heritage Site. It is an elongated triangular shaped square and connects Largo do São Domingos at one end and Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro on the other. It covers an area of 3,700 square meters.

That day was an impressive day in Macau. I went to the glamorous side of Macau then the most classic and historical side of Macau. Both of them were so beautiful and captured my memories. It was a beautiful day.
