One-day Princess

Last Sept, 15th Korean Celebrated the one Of Korean biggest holiday called 추석 (Chuseok).
Chuseok is also referred to as Hangawi (한가위). Han means “big” and gawi means “the ides of the 8th lunar month or autumn.” According to the lunar calendar, the full harvest moon appears on the 15th day of the eighth month. It is similar to Thanksgiving Day.
You can read complete information about Chuseok from this link

Holiday but not much we can do because usually the store and famous places closed during Chuseok, it's only historical tourist attraction like a palace or theme park is open during Chuseok.
Because Chuseok is a traditional cultural holiday for Korean, I want to try some Korean-culture related things, so I came to one-day Hanbok rental.

What is 한복 (Hanbok)?
Hanbok is the traditional attire of the Korean people. Worn daily up until just 100 years ago, these days it is only worn on festive occasions or special anniversaries. It is a formal dress and most Koreans keep a hanbok for special times in their life.
Nowadays Hanbok became one of hot-fashion item. The designer often uses the idea of Hanbok to make design for modern clothes. While the traditional Hanbok was beautiful in its own right, the design has changed slowly but surely over the generations. The core of Hanbok is its graceful shape and vibrant colors, which have had a major impact on the modern fashion industry.

It is hard to think of Hanbok as everyday wear, but it is slowly being revolutionized through the changing of fabrics, colors and features, reflecting the public's desires. Many aspiring Hanbok designers have altered Hanbok for everyday wear with traditional elements at the basis of the garment but having a distinct modern feel.

This is my second time wearing the Hanbok. I picked the soft color match with pastel pink and pastel purple. Want to create a good ladylike image. ;p

I rented the hanbok at a store called 오늘하루한복 (Today One-day Hanbok), this store has 3 branches and You can find the complete information :
https://m.facebook.com/today1dayhanbok
(I can't found the English website)
Operation hour : Everyday from 10.00-20.30
Price : 4hours for 14.000₩ 28hours for 28.000₩.

That day I rented for 24hours just for 16.000₩ because Chuseok's special price.

You can pick your own style and color of the Hanbok, and you can walk around the area (Samcheongdong area) and take a lot pictures of that!

And I went to 경복궁(Gyeongbokgung). Gyeongbokgung Palace is arguably the most beautiful, and remains the largest of all five palaces. The very famous Korea historical sites! You definitely need to travel there if you come to Korea.

How to get there:
Subway :
- Gyeongbokgung Palace Station (Line 3) Exit 5.
- Gwanghwamun Station (Line 5) Exit 2.

My not blood bonds-family.

Detail clothes:
Like I said I picked pink top and bottom purple for my Hanbok. The top surrounded by beautiful, colorful flower embroideries.
For hair used like a pink ribbon to complete my braid hair plus some cute headband. And the beautiful flower pouch. :)

And I paired with Blue tank-top from Uniqlo and Abstract Tank from Forever 21.

After walking around for 4-5 hours + drenched with sweat, we back to the rental shop and after exchanging the clothes back, we continued to walk around the area called 삼청동 (Samcheongdong).

Samcheongdong is a quite popular street area, along with traditional-look restaurant, cafe, store. You can enjoy the Korea modern-contemporary atmosphere here while shopping or just simply walking around and there are a lot Cafés and restaurant you can enjoy also. With Beautiful mural painting and relax atmosphere, Samcheongdong is the right place to spend time with family and friends.

And I uploaded my pictures from my first Hanbok-wearing experience. :)

What I love the most from Korea is about their endless love to their own cultural and histories. The time between the modernization and history, they still remember and respect their history in the middle of the craziness modernization lifestyle. And I want to be person whose proud and respected my own country's history.

Walk on the Moon

THE BEER WEEK SEOUL hosted by the booth brewing (http://thebooth.co.kr) in partnership with Common Ground (common-ground.co.kr) from Sept, 21th until Sept, 25th.

Common ground is popular container-made fashion mall in Seoul.
To get there you can take the subway Konkuk University (line 2) and go out from exit 6 then go straight by walk.

You can find the list what kinds of beer line up you can choose to drink at the entrance door. The beers divided by two: Guest Brewery & Beer and Local Brewery & Beer. And you need to buy the ticket to drink the beer. The pink color ticket for local beer and the purple color ticket for the guest beer. I bought the package which I've got 3 glasses guest beer and 3 glasses local beer (I came with my 2 friends) for 33.000₩.

Beside the Beer Week, there is PRINGLES TORTILLA festival. It was the Pringle's marketing strategy to introduce their new product, PRINGLES TORTILLA! There is a game like you need to put in the arrow-shaped shot to the jar in the front of you. If you can put in 3 arrows inside, you going to get a speaker and 2 Pringles Tortilla. I was putting in 1 arrow and I've got 1 tube of Pringles Tortilla. I'm falling in love with this new Pringles Tortilla!

Fat, fat, fat! Common Ground best food truck maybe gave me like 2 kilos plus after enjoyed the food. I ordered Sausage and Cheese Fried Fries by 궤도에오르다 (Go Into Orbit) and 삼겹살 (Pork Belly and Fried Fries) by Wonder Truck. Two thumbs up for both of them! And for the guest beer, I picked Belgian Ale Beer.

I came around 2 o'clock in the afternoon, still empty just a bunch of people, however, together with the sunset more people came!

Second round! Not yet full, we ordered Chicken with Barbecue Sauce and our next glass of beer, this time to local beer.
Overall the beer was good, the food was outstanding and the atmosphere was fun!

And I paired my Black Converse Chuck Taylor All Star High Top with flower mini dress and leather look-a-like jacket. Plus black choker necklace.

Not end yet, we went to Maze Escape Room. But I can't give you more information here, the point is you need to solve the instructions to get out of the room! And there are 3 choices of room there: Escape from the Alcatraz, The Bathroom, The Thieves. For more information, please open http://www.mazeescape.co.kr

Note: all the instructions are in Korean. Make sure you understand Korean well or go there with your Korean friend! It's secret but trust me worth to try!

In the meantime, inside the room, I can't perfectly understand the language and the hint sometimes just got me stuck in the same place. It makes me feel stand on my own feet in the place between hopeless feeling and believe there is way out no matter what. But sometimes the only way out is just not stop trying, you just need to try.

So whatever is your problem now, or you have dreams you want to reach, but you keep failing, you can't give up, you just need to try. And if you succeed, don't forget there is still a bunch of challenges ahead. And if you failed, stand up again and try more. And then one day, we will succeed. And we will walk on the moon.
CHEERS!
